Position: Project Engineer

PSS is looking for a highly motivated Project Engineer to contribute to our corporate growth and help us maintain our position as an innovative authority within the industry.

This is a full-time salaried position that will typically be performed Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm at our corporate office in Manassas, VA. This position may require additional hours and weekend work in order to ensure submission of project bids meet the tight deadlines.

Minimum Requirements:
• BS in Construction Management or related construction degree preferred
• Minimum of 4 years of Construction Management experience
• U.S. Citizenship required

Job Responsibilities:
• Onsite coordination and management
• Coordination of design, delivery, installation, and ongoing customer interaction
• Address change orders, contract updates, etc.
• Work closely with Project Management

Position: Project Manager

PSS is looking for a highly skilled Project Manager to contribute to our corporate growth and help us maintain our position as an innovative authority within the industry. The ideal candidate will have strong work plan development, progress oversight skills, and advanced problem-solving abilities. They will be expected to manage multiple projects across different client sites, as well as to prepare and present progress updates to executive management on a regular basis. The project manager will plan, initiate, manage, and execute full project life cycles for all assigned projects.

This is a full-time salaried position that will typically be performed Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm at our corporate office in Manassas, VA. This position may require additional hours and weekend work during project kick off and compliance walkthroughs at the project sites.

Minimum Requirements:
• Years of Experience: Five (5) years of experience of general construction and at least two (2) years of experience with secure doors, frames, and hardware (DFH)
• Education: High School Degree or higher
• U.S. Citizenship required

Job Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain processes to manage scope over the project lifecycle, setting project quality and performance standards, and assessing and managing risk within, and across, multiple projects
• Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation
• Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs
• Analyze project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that project team adheres to project requirements
• Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate clients, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes
• Collaborate with the internal business development team to accurately bid estimations on future projects.
• Assist executive management with corporate growth by creating and maintaining new clients.
• Create and review submittals at project release in a timely manner.
• Use the strong background in doors, frames, and hardware (DFH) to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise throughout the project.
• Develop and maintain project tracking records i.e., change order logs, submittal logs, budget change logs.
• Adhere closely to the predetermined project schedule.
• Attend regular meetings with Superintendents, Assistant Project Managers, and Accounting personnel to ensure a successful completion of the project.
• Communicate effectively with clients and subcontractors responsible for completing various phases of the project, using various construction software i.e., Procore, Helix, Building Connected.
• Monitor the progress of the construction/ installation activities and facilitate regular status meetings with all the sub-teams.
• Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality and safety standards to include the overall management of field staff on the projects.
• Conduct periodic inspection of construction sites weekly.

Position: Pre-Construction Estimator

PSS is looking for a highly skilled estimator to contribute to our corporate growth and help us maintain our position as an innovative authority within the industry. The ideal candidate will take initiative and be dependable, and detail oriented. Estimators are responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. They will be expected to draw up, estimate, and determine the overall costs of a new or existing construction project including the projected time frame, and additional factors like labor needs, materials, budgets, and potential setbacks. The estimator will collaborate with contractors, vendors/suppliers, and office support staff to develop project bids that estimate the amount necessary to complete the client project.

• Review bid requirements thoroughly and asks follow-up question on every bid
• Has a thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades assigned
• Develops RFI's and clarifications and ensure adequate staff and subcontractor coverage
• Preform site walks to determine necessary steps to complete projects
• Performs a comprehensive "bid day" analysis and scope review checklist outlining project specific needs
• Determine manpower needs and associated costs required to complete projects
• Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients
• Use the strong background in doors, frames, and hardware (DFH) to troubleshoot and resolve estimating issues that may arise throughout the bid process.
• Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality and safety standards required for each project.
• Bid Administration
• Collaborate with the internal business development team to accurately bid estimations on future projects.
• Solicits and maintains communication with supplier, vendors, and clients
• Prepares bid packages
• Ensures that we have the proper allowances for adequate staff coverage
• Contacts supply houses to obtain additional subcontractor bids
• Shows creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from vendor/suppliers
• Submits 100% of bids and budgets by the bid deadline – no exceptions
• Follow up & closing
• Consistently logs and tracks all bid submissions to include weekly follow ups with clients
• Knows architects, construction managers, property managers, brokers and can close business
• Report directly to upper management for project updates and market tracking
• Project turnover
• Properly turns over bid documents and sub buyout information to Project Management in a timely manner. Goal is 100% of awarded projects turned over within 24 hours of notification.
• Review drawings with Project Management team and highlight areas of concern
• Review job cost with Project Management team and highlight any subs/material vendors that still need to be awarded
• Complete project kick-off form to ensure compliance
• Attend regular meetings with Executive Management, Superintendents, Assistant Project Managers, and accounting personnel to ensure a successful completion of the project and have lessons learned
